Hospital Chaplaincy

Kabwe Chapel has supported hospital chaplaincy for 23 years. In late 2009 TTN Ministry took on that role to carry on the great work that had been developed.

2000 people/ month reached

Through the Chaplaincy, we, on average have access to 1000 new patients every month and 1000 support family members;

  • Every Sunday, the hospital ministry have access to preach the Gospel bed side to every patient;
  • The ministry is supported with a team made up from 12 different churches and other mission organisations – about 60 people in total.
  • Kabwe chapel offer support by providing a bus to assist people to get to the hospital each Sunday for ministry;
  • We see between 80 and 250 people saved each week;

Follow up in the home

Records are kept by the team of who receives the Gospel and who was prayed for.  These people are followed up by Alex through the week.

  • These follow ups lead to home visitations, often over 80 patients a month are followed up in their home. This results in more Salvations and church growth.
  • Further opportunity to plant churches open up as people come from the vast rural areas of central province meet Jesus, they then request we come to their village and start a church.

$300 a month puts a chaplain in a hospital and his ministry

This is an exciting ministry that brings many people in contact with the Gospel $200 a month covers the cost to keep this office open and allows the team to follow up those that respond.

The Chaplain is equal with medicine

Over the years of service the Office Chaplain has risen in the ranks of the Hospital Administration being involved on the Board of Management and often brought in to help with patients in spiritual matters

Foreign Doctors saved

As result of the Chaplain being called, Doctors have seen first hand the power of God, a witness they could not deny, which leads them to ask, ‘Who is this Jesus?’ The result – Doctors from China and Korea are not only being saved but discipled and trained to preach the Gospel and disciple others.

Operation Lift changes lives

Over the past three years, and more years to come, medical equipment donated from Australia has been delivered in the Kabwe General Hospital. We have seen several wards transformed and much needed equipment help the medical staff practice medicine. Being a part help to the 1.3 million people the hospital serves.

  • Often people are healed and at times entire wards have been healed!
